Global 4 Communications Appoints New Financial Director

Global 4 Communications Ltd, the Horsham based telecommunications company, has appointed Simon Johnson as its new Finance Director. Recent expansion of its customer base has dictated the creation of this new position, which was previously the responsibility of the Chairman and Managing Director, Nigel Barnett. Simon will be joining the current board of Jenny Fright (Administration Director) and Rob Whyte-Venables (Group Service Director).

Simon has a wealth of business and commercial experience having previously worked for telecoms giant Cable and Wireless and for BP. He is a CIMA qualified accountant.

For the last two and a half years Simon has been working for Thomson Reuters PLC, as Head of Business Planning, in an operational business-planning role for its global network communications department.

Simon lives in Tonbridge, Kent with his wife Katherine and 3 children. In his spare time, he describes himself as a keen outdoor enthusiast, mountain biker and triathlete, whenever possible taking part in fundraising events to support charities. Simon is also a Progression Mentor for the Princes Trust.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon said, “I am delighted to have joined Global 4 at what is a very exciting time in the company’s development. The successful acquisition of new business from another major PLC in the banking and estate agency sector has taken the company into a new league in respect of managing its finances. With a projected turnover of £15 Million, this is where I am confident that my expertise will be of value to Global 4.”

Throughout my career I have worked for big name companies, it is quite refreshing to now be involved with a smaller organisation that is lean, fit and lacks the bureaucracy and lengthy decision making processes experienced within larger corporate organizations.”

He concluded by saying, “All companies need to be sharp, focused and financially aware in the present economic climate and I look forward to playing my part in ensuring the future success of Global 4.”
