Griffin Cements Channel Commitment

Griffin Internet, the supplier of managed broadband, cemented their commitment to the channel today, by announcing the sale of their legacy direct broadband base to Eurotel, one of the UK’s largest independent communications providers and a major Griffin Partner.

Griffin Internet was one of the UK’s first ISPs and quickly built up a reputation for quality services and excellent technical support. At the time of the management buy-in, in 2005, the company was developing its channel proposition but still around half of their end users were direct Griffin customers.

Since the buy-in the company has implemented a channel-only white label strategy and has recruited over 400 channel partners. During that time the direct base has remained loyal to Griffin but at the time of sale represented less than 5% of Griffin’s base of end users.

“We have achieved remarkable growth since 2005 by providing the channel with quality white label IP services that are easy to sell and manage. With the entire company focussed on delivering quality service and support to the channel it made sense to pass our direct customers to one of our Partners better geared up to manage SMEs. Managed by Eurotel these end users will continue to enjoy the benefit of Griffin’s high quality business grade network and enjoy high levels of customer service,” commented John Dawson, Managing Director, Griffin Internet.

“The legacy direct base will be well looked after by Eurotel, customers will receive the same high level of service that they have always had, remaining on the Griffin network, but will be managed by Eurotel and given access to a larger portfolio of services,” said Nick Williams, CEO, Eurotel.
