Griffin Launches Engineered Broadband Products – Single Priority - Try it for Free

Managed broadband supplier Griffin Internet say they are already considered to be the ISP of choice by many voice resellers because of their uncontended, business-only network. However they took it a step further this week with the Partner launch of EB-SP, the first product in Griffin’s Engineered Broadband family.

Engineered Broadband - Single Priority is a product which allows the prioritisation of one application over all other traffic on individual IPStream broadband lines ordered via Griffin’s Managed Online Provisioning System, MOPS.

The company reports that results from alpha trials show that EB-SP improves the quality of VOIP calls bi-directionally even when a broadband line is being used only for voice. This is because the application is prioritised not just on the individual broadband line but also over the Griffin network and the interconnect to the VoIP vendor. However, EB-SP is most effective where a customer wants to run VoIP but is not inclined to buy a second broadband line for email and web traffic.

Andrew Dickinson, Sales and Marketing Director commented; “We have developed this product in response to the increased demand we have been seeing from partners to use broadband to carry voice as well as email and web traffic. EB-SP is the first in our Engineered Broadband family and we have taken the bold step of offering it free until the end of October 2007 to give people the opportunity to experiment with the product risk-free.”
