High Profile Departures at Avaya

Buddie Ceronie, Avaya’s Vice President for Northern Europe and South Africa, has left the company along with other senior executives including Liza Ayes and Steve Platel. Comms Business Magazines understands other high profile lay-offs are expected shortly.

Ceronie joined Avaya in March 2004 as vice president of channel and partner sales, EMEA. Previously to this, he worked at 3Com, where he spent six years as area sales director for UK, Ireland, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Middle East, Africa and Nordics. Before his assignment with 3Com, Ceronie was a country manager at Xyplex Networks in South Africa.

At the time Ceronie told Comms Business, “I joined Avaya because I was excited about the converged market and was keen to play a strategic role. A strong framework for my role has been defined and I will be looking at growing the business though the right channel with the right skill sets.”

Today a spokesperson for Avaya told Comms Business Magazine, "Buddie Ceronie has advised Avaya that he intends to leave the company to pursue his own professional interests."
