Huawei launches MediaPad tablet and Vision smartphone

Huawei, provider of telecoms solutions and a powerful and exciting new brand in smartphones, has today announced the UK launch of the Huawei MediaPad, a 7-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet in a unibody design, with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 1080p full HD video recording and playback, plus the UK launch of the Huawei Vision, Huawei’s stylish new smartphone with a differentiated 3D carousel animation display.

The Huawei Vision will be available in time for Christmas from Phones 4u. Further operator and retailer partners are expected to be confirmed for early 2012. It is expected to be available for free on contracts in the region of £25 per month.

Huawei Vision runs on the Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS and off a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 processor. It features a customisable user interface that enables home screen panels to be explored easily and rendered in a number of ways, including as a 3D carousel interface.

The Huawei MediaPad will be available in the UK through retailers and operators from Q1 2012. The Wi-Fi version of MediaPad is expected to sell in the region of £275 (plus VAT).

The Huawei MediaPad is a complete entertainment powerhouse and provides a fabulous user-experience in a stylish, high-performing, super-light and ultra-portable package. It is smart, slim and light, measuring just 10.5mm (0.4 inches) deep and weighing approximately 390g (0.86 pounds).

With its 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1080p IPS screen and HDMI port, it offers a standout visual experience for photos, movies and applications, and takes entertainment and gaming experiences to the next level. It features a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 5 megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with HD video record and playback. It allows 14.4Mbps HSPA+ and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, as well as six-hour battery life.

The Huawei MediaPad supports Flash 10.3 and comes preinstalled with Facebook, Twitter, Let’s Golf and Documents to Go.
