Hull Joins UKFast

Cloud infrastructure provider UKFast today appointed ex Virgin exec Lee Hull to its board in another move that suggests the business is preparing for significant growth in enterprise and the channel in 2015.

Hull’s appointment to Commercial Director bolsters the board as the business confirms three-year average profit growth of 46.33 per cent in the Profit Track league table for 2015.

Lawrence Jones MBE, UKFast founder and CEO, says the fourth big appointment in as many weeks is “another important piece of the jigsaw for us to realise our ambitions this year.”

Hull brings with him an impressive track record of delivering significant revenue and profit growth in the IT, Telecoms and Media industry. He spent six years with Virgin Media Business as a member of the business division’s board, growing enterprise revenue by £100m over four years.

Previously Hull spent eleven years with Telewest, heading up various sales and enterprise functions and playing an instrumental role in helping Virgin Media Business grow to £700m.

Jones said: “Lee is exactly what we need right now to take UKFast to the next level. I have known Lee for many years. He is a good friend and a great signing. He played an instrumental role in Virgin Media Business’s growth and he is well respected in the UK’s tech community.”

Hull commented: “I, like many others in the industry, have kept my eye on UKFast over the past decade. I am hugely impressed with the organic growth they have achieved and the infrastructure and culture they have built. I’m looking forward to playing a major part in the future growth across enterprise and the channel.”

Jones hinted at further activity at board level in the near future, adding: "It’s important we develop the board as we prepare for the future. I have learned you need great people around you if you want a great result.”

Hull’s signing follows the appointment of ex-DWF and M&A specialist Nicola Frost as Head of Legal, former Fasthosts finance chief Michael Hogan as FD and Andy Hague who heads up UKFast’s security division, bringing a wealth of experience from NCC.

UKFast recently posted financial results showing 24% revenue growth in 2014 to £28.9m and last year announced that within a year of its launch, its scalable cloud solution, eCloud, accounts for more than 18% of revenue.
