Distributor Ingram Micro has chosen to exhibit at the Convergence Summit North for the first time to build and promote theirs and their vendors value propositions in the convergence space.

The distributor has also spent time concentrating on developing their own calendar of events which are always detailed on the website www.uk.ingrammicro.com. Included are their home-grown Reseller Forum- and the very successful Managed Service Provider University boot-camps. These are two day workshops providing actionable strategies to reduce operational costs, shorten sales cycles and increase profitability to transform a business to managed services provision.

Marketing Director James Parker commented, “In 2012 Ingram Micro has made considerable investment globally and locally through their greenfield initiatives, creating new or building on existing business units of Cloud Services, Unified Communications, Pro AV and Mobility which has been further bolstered through the recent acquisition of BrightPoint which has UK offices in Dorset - to provide an end-to-end mobility offering.

The Convergence Summit is an ideal platform to elevate the profile of Ingram Micro, and showcase their vendors, amongst a predominately new audience of resellers and promote their offerings in the convergence space, particularly within Cloud, Mobility and UC which are key areas of focus for Ingram Micro.”

Joining Ingram Micro on their lounge stand will be the likes of Microsoft, BlackBerry and Jabra.

Parker says that Microsoft will be focusing on the latest release of Office 365 as a collaboration enabler and now with an increasing strong cloud offering with Office 365 providing a choice for customers between perpetual and cloud based versions of Office.

“They will also be highlighting the added versatility Office provides to enterprise businesses plus discussing Lync as a collaborative tool.

BlackBerry will be leading with the BlackBerry 10 which is a brand new Enterprise mobile computing solution taking the best aspects of the BlackBerry platform and combining it with a new operating system and powerful management software. BlackBerry 10 is designed for people to work on the go and it includes the built-in manageability and security that’s always been at the heart of the BlackBerry business solution. BlackBerry will be keen to talk to mobile customers regarding handset sales and also IT resellers to discuss the operating system suitability.

Jabra will be unveiling the latest additions to their headset portfolio - Jabra SPEAK 510 Bluetooth speakerphone – designed to facilitate audio conferencing for office professionals, the Jabra MOTION UC Bluetooth multiuse headset for the mobile business user who undertakes calls via UC applications or uses a variety of devices. Together with Jabra Ingram Micro will also be running a prize draw to win Jabra devices.”
