intY Announces Record Growth and New Board Members

Cloud computing specialist, intY, welcomes Phil Male, former Chief Strategy Officer of Cable&Wireless, and Mike Read, former CEO of Pipex and Director of Daisy Group as members of the intY Board, and appoints Roger Baskerville as global sales and marketing director

Following the company’s most successful period to date - growing 42% in 18 months - the appointments support intY’s continued expansion both in the UK and internationally, and further capitalise on enterprise demand for cloud services.

Chris Baldock, managing director of intY, explains: “As cloud becomes a business imperative for cost reduction, scalability and increased efficiencies, demand for intY’s breed of services is at an all time high. As our market reach increases, and with significant new services due to be added later this year, it was the perfect time to strengthen our board to drive the company’s next phase of strategic growth.”

Phil Male joins intY’s board having previously been Chief Strategy Officer at Cable&Wireless, and Chief Operating Officer at THUS plc since 1999. At Cable&Wireless, he led the de-merger process that led to its worldwide listing on the stock exchange in 2010. Prior to this, Male was involved in the start-up of Demon Internet, one of the world’s first commercial Internet Service Providers. He is also Executive Chairman at UK2 Group.

Mike Read has held the position of Director, Chief Executive and Chairman at companies including BT, AOL, Pipex, Daisy Group, Freedom4 Group, Ovum and CityReach. He has run AIM listed and NASDAQ quoted companies and has extensive merger, acquisition and fund raising experience in both the UK and USA creating significant shareholder value.

Roger Baskerville joins intY having previously worked in senior sales and marketing positions at organisations such as Compaq, Citrix and XenSource and has recently been a consultant at Microsoft. He brings with him significant experience of SaaS, virtualisation management solutions, cloud, fixed and wireless networks, mobile device solutions and enterprise applications. Roger’s focus will be to build upon intY’s UK market success, as well as establish a global partner network.

Baldock concludes, “We are delighted that such high calibre names in the IT and telecoms sectors have joined us, at this, a crucial time in our global expansion. Having previously been customers and partners, they understand intY’s pedigree in the cloud computing space, and the huge market potential that lies ahead of us. Mike, Phil and Roger all bring proven track records and decades of combined experience to intY, and will be instrumental in continuing to build on the business’ success. It really is an exciting time to be part of intY.”
