Jade Communications, a UK provider of mobile voice and data communications technologies for business, has signed a partnership agreement with Psion Teklogix, the mobile computing and wireless data collection specialist.
Jade will now offer Psion Teklogix’ comprehensive range of mobile computing technology as part of its solutions and will focus in particular on equipping field service operations with its Mobility as a Service application running on fully rugged PDA devices like the Psion Teklogix IP65-rated Ikôn.
Mark Brackley, managing director of Jade Communications, said: “More and more businesses are looking to use rugged PDAs to mobilise their workforce, automate paper based systems, improve customer service, cut operating costs and improve profitability. While some offer consumer grade devices, we have found that combining fully rugged devices is the most cost effective solution in the longer term. We are very pleased to now be able to offer Jade customers Psion Teklogix devices like the Ikôn PDA, acknowledged to be one of the most rugged and reliable devices available.”
Paul Westmoreland, managing director of Psion Teklogix, added: “Working together in partnership Jade and Psion Teklogix offer an outstanding combination for mobilising the workforce, especially in field service and markets like construction, healthcare and the public sector. Jade’s Mobility as a Service solution in particular offers a customisable application and a low cost of entry package for enterprises that are serious about reaping the benefits of mobile technology.”
Jade’s Mobility as a Service package allows field service companies to outsource their mobile data communications, removing the headache of deploying and managing a mobile computer estate. The Mobility as a Service package includes mobile devices, specially-designed field service software, accessories and service desk support. Typical functionality available with the package includes the ability to view real-time job updates from your field engineers, full visibility of spare part stock available on vans, availability of customer data to engineers as they work in the field and the ability to track engineers’ movements via GPS functionality.
