Jinny Software, a global supplier of messaging and media platforms to mobile network operators, is supporting Melita Mobile in Malta through its suite of messaging and media solutions.
Melita Mobile is a new mobile network in Malta, which offers voice and data services, and will now be utilising the power of Jinny’s messaging, media, routing and filtering, plus rating and charging solutions in its service offering.
Melita Mobile was established by Melita, Malta’s provider of television, broadband and telephony services, which acquired a 3G mobile licence to establish a mobile network and offer voice and data services in the island country. Melita Mobile rolled out Malta’s third wireless communications network in early 2009 offering a full range of voice and data communications services.
Melita Mobile has implemented a complete suite of Jinny’s messaging and media solutions including its SMSC, MMSC, WAP Gateway, Ringback Tone Server, Real-time Charging Gateway, Missed Call Notification, VAS Application Suite (including SMS Push/Pull, Voting and a Media Download Engine), Message Router and Voice Mail System (VMS). This comprehensive range of solutions allows Melita Mobile to offer its subscribers the fullest set of VAS services within ambitious timelines.
Being new to the mobile market, Melita Mobile was seeking a trusted partner and able messaging provider to deliver these key systems in its new network. Previous experience and knowledge of the Jinny organisation combined with the cost-benefit ratio, flexibility and capability of the Jinny solutions were the key determining factors in securing this deal.
Melita Mobile is one of the first mobile operators in the world to integrate HSPA mobile broadband into a cable platform. With its investment of Euro 40 million in a new, fully fledged mobile network, Melita Mobile is Malta’s third full service mobile operator and a fully integrated quad player able to deliver four services from one source, with one monthly bill.
