Logicalis plays violin memory

Logicalis UK announced that it has become a Tier 1 partner of Violin Memory Inc, pioneers in the use of flash memory as primary data storage. Incorporating Violin technology into its data centre portfolio, the partnership further cements Logicalis’ position as a trusted advisor to enterprises making their journey to data centre transformation.

Designed for the needs of the modern silicon data centre, Violin’s systems integrate with minimal impact to existing enterprise storage infrastructures, applications or operational processes, and eliminating the performance bottlenecks associated with spinning disk storage.

Tom Kelly, Managing Director of Logicalis UK, comments: “At Logicalis, we are dedicated to the enterprise data centre. Providing solutions and services in this space for over 15 years, we know that working with the right vendor technologies is a key part of our success. Innovations in flash mark a shift in the future make-up of efficient data centre storage, and Violin is one company at the centre of it. We look forward to the benefits Violin can bring to our services, as we look to support our customers in streamlining their data centre operations.”

As enterprises seek to reap the benefits of data centre initiatives such as virtualisation and Big Data, storage technology becomes a key enabler, according to Jason Wildt, Channel Director at Violin Memory: “It’s becoming imperative to replace traditional disk storage in order to support the demands of a virtualised environment today. Working with our partners, we’re committed to helping organisations overcome the hurdles of achieving a fully virtualised data centre, to bring agility and efficiency to the fore.

“We’re delighted to make Logicalis a key member of our UK channel programme. As we work together through our bespoke sales enablement process, we can enable customers’ applications to process more information, in less time, with fewer resources, vastly improving their sustained performance.”
