Mitel has announced the general availability of the Mitel Applications Server (MAS) release 1.2. The ‘office in a box’ is targeted at SMBs and now integrates with both the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) and the Mitel 5000, expanding the number of users from 350 to 1,000.
MAS provides a plethora of business applications on a single server including messaging, audio and web conferencing, mobility and easy to use IP phones.
SMBs can now take advantage of applications that were previously only available to large companies. Businesses now have the option of working from any location using conferencing and collaboration tools providing them with the technology to discover new ways of working, increasing their productivity, efficiency and customer service.
Mitel say MAS is managed via a user-friendly, web-based interface easing the administration of the system. Simplified management and single server advantages translate into reduced time and cost reduction.
“Once again, Mitel has simplified the buying process with the cost-effective option of offering individual licences on applications if requested, to avoid customers being locked into buying a bundle of licences if not required.”
“In the current economic climate it is vital that all businesses up their game to stay ahead of the competition and retain customers. MAS enables customers to communicate more effectively internally and externally and not only enables them to increase their productivity and revenue but also reduces their operational and travel costs by using business applications that have real value,” commented Andy Elliot, Marketing Director, Mitel.
