Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), a UK digital media company serving the mobile and digital interactive markets, has announced the launch of Refund Manager, a bespoke mobile refund platform built specifically for the broadcast industry.
Refund Manager will enable consumers who interact with mobile competitions or votes, outside the campaign timeframe, to self-serve refunds. The product has been designed specifically in line with PhonepayPlus regulations to give broadcasters the confidence, and the toolset, to run fully compliant premium rate mobile interactive services.
If an entry to a campaign is either early or late, MIG’s Refund Manager gives consumers the opportunity to be reimbursed with the cost of their standard or premium rate message, or to donate the cost of their entry to a charity pre-ordained by the broadcaster.
Via an easy to use web based interface, the consumer is encouraged to enter their mailing address in order to receive a refund cheque, or select the charity that they wish to donate their refund to.
Functionality within Refund Manager allows the client to cap the number of refunds per campaign, view data on monies claimed or donated to charity, and download reports on consumer activity. Additionally, the product can be plugged into any of MIG’s applications and integrated into an external application via its API set or via a CSV upload.
To ensure broadcasters brand guidelines are adhered to, Refund Manager can be offered as a ‘white labelled’ product.
Barry Houlihan, MD at MIG, stated: “MIG is committed to providing compliant and robust services to our clients. The integration of Refund Manager ensures the consumer is protected, whilst also rebuilding trust in participation TV services like time sensitive competitions and SMS voting.”
