The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) has announced that its global membership has exceeded 700, comprised of companies throughout the mobile marketing ecosystem that are dedicated to the proliferation of mobile marketing across Europe, North America, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Laura Marriott, president of the MMA, said: “Adoption of the mobile channel continues, at rapid pace, across the globe. The MMA continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating market entry and mobile channel growth worldwide both for the overall industry as well as for our membership. We appreciate the continued leadership from our membership in helping to build a healthy and sustainable industry worldwide.”

Building on the association’s commitment to education, the MMA recently announced the availability of new white papers, including papers on mobile applications and mobile search. In addition, the MMA has made headway on the establishment of guidelines and best practices to simplify market entry in mobile marketing, recently asking for public feedback on its Bluetooth Marketing Guidelines in Europe and its Global Mobile Advertising guidelines.

The latest MMA member companies include: BrightShare; Gigafone Asia Pacific; Mobile Advertising Solution; Mogreet; Orange NSM; SoundBite Communications; Vodacom; and Zed Worldwide.
