murphx Sets Sights on Growth With Geo Deal

Wholesale connectivity carrier murphx has increased its capacity and improved the resilience of its service through a five-year contract with Geo, a provider of fibre networks to communications carriers.

The deal for an additional dedicated fibre ring connecting the company’s three major Docklands points of presence – Telecity Group Meridian Gate, Telehouse North and Telehouse East - assures murphx clients the highest levels of diversity and security.

Carl Churchill, Director at murphx comments: “This new fibre will run in parallel to our existing ring, connecting our five Docklands points of presence. It will add additional resilience, stability and capacity to our network and provide further foundation to support our exponential growth.

“A primary consideration was the reliability of Geo’s network, as our customers are dependant on our services 24/7. And because the cables run through the London sewer system, where our existing fibre is street level, it is less susceptible to damage, outages and downtime. In the event of any link failing, Geo’s resilience means that all other routes continue to operate unaffected.

“But we also needed the additional capacity to take the business forward. We are very serious about maintaining our growth and to do that we needed a network that would grow with us. The network will be operating at 10GB between the three sites giving us the firm foundation to support our long-term growth and that is one of the reasons we signed up for five years. We are confident that Geo can help us improve and increase our offering. It will also help us build better services for our clients, as and when we need, to proactively meet their needs.”

Mark Ryder, Sales Director for Geo.Metro, said: "It's absolutely critical for companies like murphx to know that they can depend on their network with certainty. Working with Geo, murphx have the assurance of a network that meets the high levels of resilience and reliability they need to support its customers. Like all of our customers, murphx also has the benefit of it's own dedicated fibre which means that it can increase capacity whenever it needs to at a low and predictable cost, safeguarding it's future needs."
