NEC Infrontia Keeps the Edinburgh International Film Festival Talking

NEC Infrontia has announced the successful deployment of a customer service telephone system for this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival. As part of its ongoing support for the Festival – now in its third year – NEC Infrontia provided its flagship Aspire system with IP extensions alongside SIP trunks provided by partner Node 4.

“We have built a strong relationship with NEC over the past two years and their support and expertise have proven invaluable,” said Sadie McKinlay Head of Development at EIFF. “An event of this size requires an enormous amount of organisation, so it is reassuring to know we can completely rely on the dedicated team at NEC to provide the cutting edge IT infrastructure required by the Festival to run its Delegate Centre and Box Office.”

The Festival organisers selected NEC Infrontia’s Aspire system for its robustness, scalability and reliability. As the Festival’s contact centre did not have any analogue or ISDN lines, instead relying on broadband connectivity, the Aspire system provided connectivity to SIP trunks, and was designed and delivered in less than three weeks.

In total, six direct dial lines were provided for the duration of the Festival, with six extensions put in place to respond to enquiries, provide support to the box office ticket sales function and enable participating venues to stay in touch and communicate efficiently with each other.

Doug Lawes, UK managing director for NEC Infrontia said: “We are delighted to extend our association with the Edinburgh International Film Festival to another year, and provide support for its front-line customer engagement technologies.”
