Networks First Acquires ANS

Networks First, a specialist provider of converged network support services, has acquired ANS (Access Network Services), the IP Telephony solutions support services company. Following the acquisition Networks First say they will become the largest independent provider of converged network support services in the channel.

ANS has been at the forefront of data and voice technology since its launch in 1992 and brings a wealth of experience to Networks First. This includes new support offerings in the IP Telephony space for applications from key manufacturers such as Splicecom, Avaya, Mitel, Juniper and Aruba Networks, expanding Networks First’s range of services to create a complete support solution for network management.

The acquisition is expected to generate a combined turnover of £10million within 12 months and increases Networks First’s headcount to 85 people, with ANS personnel joining forces with Networks First’s nationwide team of engineers. Peter Titmus, Managing Director at Networks First, comments: “Both Networks First and ANS are all about service excellence. We’ve worked together in the past on collaborative projects and we have the same ethos, service delivery vision and dedication to customers.

“The acquisition enhances Networks First’s portfolio of services providing customers with a complete range of cutting edge IP Telephony support solutions. It also broadens our customer base and will lead to the accelerated growth of our business. We’re committed to making sure our customers get the best support and the acquisition of ANS will help ensure they are getting just that.”

Kevin Winstanley, Managing Director at ANS, comments: “I am extremely pleased to have concluded this deal with Networks First. We have worked alongside Peter and the team for many years and there is a clear synergy in combining companies. Networks First are clearly established as the largest independent channel only support services organisation, now with the ability to cover technology ranging from high level Ethernet switching, Security, IP Telephony through to wireless technologies. The offering available to all our channel partners has been significantly enhanced by this acquisition. In short it works for everyone.”

Robin Hayman, Marketing & Product Manager at SpliceCom told Comms Business Magazine, “We are very pleased for Kevin and his team and we look forward to working Peter Titmus. We are sure this move will open up even further support opportunities for our channel partners.”
