Chelsea Apps Factory, aUK cross-platform Apps consultancy and development house, has today announced a series of high profile app launches for brands including Vodafone, Wowcher and The Kennel Club. In addition, the company has also appointed Steve Sweales to manage App development across the burgeoning business - he joins Chelsea Apps Factory from Deutsche Telekom.

Chelsea Apps Factory was founded in March 2010 by Mike Anderson, former Digital Director at News International and MD of the Evening Standard and Metro newspapers, who brought his 25 years experience in media and publishing to bear on the rapidly evolving Apps space. The company prides itself on having end-to-end App development expertise in commissioning, developing, and marketing Apps, and has delivered solutions for RBS, Vodafone, and CNBC.

Today, Chelsea Apps Factory has announced that it has brought to market new Apps for: Wowcher: Get up to 80% off with the best daily deals, delivered straight to the palm of your hand. From theatre deals and cooking classes, to skydiving courses, architectural tours and hairdressing services, users can get up to 80% off top deals and book them straight from their phone. The Wowcher iPhone mobile app is available to download for free from iTunes; Kennel Club Puppy Buying Guide: Designed for prospective puppy owners, this app provides everything you need to know when buying a dog – with checklists to help find the right dog and breeder, to tips on how to look after a puppy in the first few weeks. The app is available to download from the Android Market for free; Vodafone: An exclusive augmented reality based Android app developed for a one off event at the Tate Britain. Attendees were able to bring their favourite paintings to life by simply pointing their phone at them - letting them hear the story behind Waterhouse’s Lady of Shalott, for example, while watching her float down the river on their phone.

As part of its continued expansion, Chelsea Apps Factory has appointed Steve Sweales, who joins the company with over 11 years of experience working at T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom (UK) where he pioneered development of the recommended apps service for T-Mobile’s Web ‘n’ Walk platform. In his new role at Chelsea Apps Factory, Steve will be responsible for managing new App development projects and delivering innovative and creative Apps for Chelsea Apps Factory’s roster of blue-chip brands.

Mike Anderson, CEO of Chelsea Apps Factory, commented: “When we set up Chelsea Apps Factory there was a Gold Rush happening in the Apps industry – and there still is. But what no one was doing was getting the investors and developers and marketers together under one roof to develop amazing apps that drive real business benefit. We decided to do just this, and the number of phone calls we get from brands and developers who want to work with us keeps increasing - which shows the model works!”

“We’re excited to bring Steve Swales to the team - our team is one of the keys to our success, and we’re confident that he brings the right blend of experience and creativity to help keep things thriving here in Chelsea as we continue to grow.”
