New SwyxWare Version 7 supports Windows 7 and Lotus Notes

Swyx has announced the availability of SwyxWare Version 7. Highlights of this new software release are the integration into IBM Lotus Notes and the support for Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. This makes SwyxWare one of the first UC solutions to support Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system.

“An important factor with SwyxWare, is that it is completely future-proofed”, says Ralf Ebbinghaus, Executive Vice President at Swyx, “Our regular software update service gives existing users the possibility to instantly take advantage of new standards and operating systems so they are always up to date with the latest technology. Even customers that have been using Swyx for over 10 years are still able to profit from the latest unified communications system.”

Apart from the new support for Windows 7, SwyxWare Version 7 offers many new capabilities including support for status signalling between different Swyx servers which means that colleagues across different sites and/or countries can now see what someone’s status is. In addition a centralised managed phonebook showing presence information is now offered. The new, fully integrated fax server solution also offers the ability to send faxes directly from the SwyxIt! Softphone. For optimal call management, an extended call journal with filter functions is now included. This allows for example a quick overview of incoming or outgoing calls, missed calls or recorded conversations. Furthermore Swyx DECT base stations can be updated free of charge to switch from H.323 to the SIP standard (Session Initiation Protocol).

SwyxWare Version 7 is available now and can be downloaded from the Swyx Website. The update is free for Swyx Update Service (SUS) users. Pricing for the SwyxWare 7 UC solution starts from 739 GBP (Recommended Retail Price) for a 5 user system.
