New Weapon Launched in PBX Battlefield

Distributor Nimans has welcomed the launch of a new hardware-based product innovation from Swyx - hailing it as a significant new weapon in the battle for PBX sales, which will make life easier for resellers, especially those moving into converged communications for the first time.

Unified Comms manufacturer Swyx is hoping to lure more traditional PBX resellers with SwyxExpress, a new easy-to-use hardware bundle of its acclaimed SwyxWare software solution, together with a Microsoft Windows Server. The software is preconfigured onto the hardware making it ideal for PBX resellers who may not be familiar with software installations, saving on-site time and costs.

“SwyxWare is a proven unified comms solution which has a growing reputation in the UK for being intuitive and user friendly. The launch of SwyxExpress will tempt more resellers to embrace the technology as it minimises the costs of procurement and installation, thereby maximising the margin from the overall project,” explained Lynnette Smith, Nimans’ Swyx Business Manager. “We feel it offers the best of both worlds - the familiarity of a standard PBX with the functionality and benefits of a pure IP PBX solution.”

In addition Swyx has also announced that its UC software can now be integrated into the Apple iPhone, offering features such as global phonebook with presence information. It is already available on Blackberry, Symbian and the Windows operating systems.

Lynnette concluded: “The latest product developments represent another leap forward and are a welcome addition to our Swyx portfolio, bringing our customers greater opportunities for sales success. The pre-installed SwyxWare is delivered without licenses which gives resellers complete freedom to order only the number they need for a client’s individual circumstances.
