Distributor Nimans is to build on its European market-leading position with the creation of a dedicated headset sales and support team and the launch of a new online compatibility tool covering 2,000 phones and 10,000 connection types.
It is the first time Nimans has created a dedicate headset team having previously organised its business around individual manufacturers. However the distributor believes that the market is now too complex and big that it needs a resource devoted to the sector.
“The headset sector has become increasingly complex with thousands of models, connections, user profiles and environments requiring evaluation before kit can be specified,” explained Headset Business Manager, Philippa Parrish. “Realistically, and in the interests of consistently providing the most informed, specialist advice and service in such a highly complex marketplace, we saw that it made sense to ditch our previous manufacturer-led approach in favour of a whole sector strategy.”
All members of the eight-strong team have undergone specialist training to ensure they can provide authoritative consultative advice and support. Reseller resources available through the new team include sales and product training and field sales support.
In an allied move the company has launched a headset compatibility tool which it claims is the most comprehensive online resource available to resellers. The new tool embraces over 100 different telephone systems, 2,000 headset models and 10,000 connection types and also allows resellers to interrogate it by the number and type of users and their environments.
“This is going to be an absolutely invaluable resource for resellers,” commented Philippa Parrish. “No-one else provides a compatibility tool which covers such a broad spectrum of vital specification issues. It will cut out a lot of tiresome and time-consuming legwork, coupled with the new dedicated headset sales team providing a further comfort zone of expertise.”
