NEC resellers have been learning the ‘tricks of the trade’ as part of a free engineering training initiative from Nimans.

Designed to boost confidence and technical knowledge, the exclusive courses take place at Nimans’ Manchester headquarters focusing on NEC’s popular SL1100 comms platform.

The half day classroom-style sessions began in February and are running throughout the year. They cover many key topics and techniques that will inspire, encourage and highlight ease of installations. Additional courses take place in May, including a brand new ‘advanced’ programme.

One Preston-based reseller attended the first course and said it had provided him with a much needed knowledge boost.

“We’ve been working on the SL1100 for a few months now and are still pretty new to it. The course has been great and very informative. We’ll be leaving with a lot more confidence.”

He added: “We work with other NEC products and this course has reinforced our knowledge of the basic programming and what we can do with the system. It’s a good solid platform which can do a range of pretty much everything that’s asked of it. It’s a great all-rounder.”

John McKindland, Nimans’ Head of Systems Sales confirmed: “Nimans is delighted to have launched this new course as part of our comprehensive training portfolio. It is completely free of charge and re-affirms our long standing commitment to offer resellers all the support they need to capture greater levels of business.”

He added: “The SL1100 is a very cost effective solution for any small business and as such its appeal is far and wide. We will be discussing all the tricks of the trade which are not always documented in instruction manuals – to make SL1100 installations quick and easy. The course goes down to grass roots level and covers the installation basics as well as more sophisticated advice and expertise. It’s been very well received.”
