Telefónica O2 Germany announced the acceleration of the company's mobile data network based on HSPA+. O2 will provide customers with the new technology in the second half of 2009.

The launch of the new technology will take place in Munich. For the first time customers will be able to experience the benefits of the mobile high speed web. HSPA+ enables the download of data at a transfer rate of 28 megabits per second and the upload at 5.76 megabits per second.

The high speed up and download allows high quality internet TV, fastest response times for online gaming and even more efficient work in companies. In May O2 will start a user test in Munich. Huawei Technologies will deliver the appropriate technology and a stick for mobile surfing.

O2 and Huawei have successfully cooperated on the German market for a long time. The two companies cooperate in the expansion of the German O2 mobile network.
