Onecom Employee Dave Hits A Hot Streak

Onecom employee Dave Cox is riding on a career high after receiving a promotion, a pay rise, a car and winning VIP tickets to the FA Cup Final – all in the space of two days.

The 29-year-old, who has been working at the business communications specialist for almost five years, is delighted after receiving a clutch of honours from his employer to reward his hard work.

Dave’s rewards come as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to staff wellbeing through a number of health and morale-boosting initiatives.

First Dave was promoted from sales executive to team leader – a promotion that was accompanied by a pay rise.

The following day he was rewarded with a luxury Range Rover for the weekend after his team worked hard to put in that week’s best performance in sales.

Dave’s good fortune continued when he won a company-wide competition for a pair of tickets at Club Wembley to watch the FA Cup Final on Saturday between Arsenal and Chelsea. Staff were invited to enter a competition, answering questions about the firm, including around its partnership with Vodafone and being named Vodafone’s Total Communications Partner in 2015 and 2016.

Dave correctly answered the questions and was picked at random to win tickets for the best seat in the house on Saturday.

Dave, who lives in Portchester and works at Onecom’s headquarters in Whiteley, Hampshire, said: “I couldn’t be happier – I was always of the mindset that these sorts of things don’t happen to people like me!

“It’s always nice to be rewarded for hard work, but to have all these things happen in quick succession is extraordinary.

“I’m a massive football fan and have never been to an FA Cup Final, so this is a dream come true for me. I’m going to take my dad with me.

“I may be an Everton fan, but I’m going to make the most of this amazing opportunity.

“It’s great to work for Onecom because it really looks after its employees and rewards success.”

Onecom has a strong commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees, including robust Mental Health and Stress policies, cycle-to-work schemes and subsidised gym memberships for staff.

A general reduction in absence related to health and wellbeing is helping Onecom to better balance its workload across the business and achieve outstanding customer service and sales targets.

Darren Ridge, Onecom CEO, said: “We look after our staff and were pleased to reward Dave his hard work and dedication to our customers. It’s a well-deserved honour, and we firmly believe that happy staff equals happy customers.”

The company has been shortlisted for Customer Service Team of The Year in the 2017 Comms Business Awards.
