Opal Expands Eire Capabilities with Strencom Partnership

Opal, the B2B division of TalkTalk Group and the UK’s leading provider of business communications, has announced a powerful new partnership with Eire telecom provider Strencom, that will see it expand its footprint into Eire for the first time.

The move, say Opal, is set to bring a raft of benefits to organisations with multiple sites spanning the UK and Eire, including network efficiencies, hardware supply, equipment install and full, anytime technical maintenance.

Opal’s partnership with Strencom means that for the first time Opal can provision DSL services in Ireland that are an integral part of a customer’s IPVPN network. This brings with it numerous business benefits as sites in Eire can connect with their UK corporate network seamlessly.

Chris Wood, Opal’s Director of Product Management, Partner and Value Add, said: “With our partnership with Strencom now in place, Opal can provide a one-stop-shop for true business grade connectivity across UK and Eire.

“Opal is already working with a significant number of large UK retailers with footprints in Eire and proving significant performance benefits and cost savings. This move was as much about listening and responding to what our customers want as well as choosing the right partner in Strencom, which are a genuine business-to-business provider and have a service ethos that complements ours”

Benjamin Shrive, UK Country Manager from Strencom, concluded: “we greatly value the opportunity of working with Opal and look forward to providing multiple network services in Ireland that enhance Opal’s overall customer capability. The partnership is an extremely good fit as both companies share a similar ethos; providing business grade connectivity and adding value to the customer by being trusted IP services providers.”
