Opal Races to be Partner of Choice

Opal, the provider of next generation communication technologies, says it has further strengthened its position as the channel’s partner of choice with its latest dealer day, held at Kempton Park Race course in Surrey.

As one of a programme of events planned for the coming year, the day was aimed at keeping partners updated on Opal’s strategic vision for the future, how it will shape and respond to the changing market as well as highlighting ways to maximise margin and open new revenue streams.

Attended by more than 40 delegates, the event featured a variety of presentations and seminars from senior Opal management including director of wholesale, Andy Hollingworth and transformation director, Andrew Lockwood.

The programme covered Opal’s technology roadmap for the coming year, the newly launched Opal Office Broadband product, its hosted dialler proposition, as well as tutorials on how to effectively sell the company’s inbound portfolio. The day also featured networking opportunities as well as a series of evening race meets to round the day off.

Opal’s director of wholesale, Andy Hollingworth, said: “The day was extremely well received by all, and is yet another example of Opal’s commitment to the channel. The event was aimed at sharing ideas and knowledge of what is happening in the marketplace, as well as demonstrating to our partners about the many new revenue streams, opportunities for margin and benefits that partnering with Opal brings.”

“The day also proved valuable in attracting key next generation broadband partners and was very successful in identifying where our next generation data and MPLS opportunities lie.”

David Brown, Managing Director of David Brown Consulting Limited, one of the partners to attend the event, said: “This was the most productive Opal dealer day I’ve attended to date with a really interesting range of informative presentations. It gave me a clear impression of how Opal’s strategy dovetails with changing business processes. Opal has a strong understanding of what we require as partners going forward in terms of marketing support and up to date technical information.”

Sean Bamford, Sales Manager with BSAS Telecoms, also found the event useful. He said: “I really enjoyed the day, it was well organised and it was good to catch up with the other partners. It was particularly interesting to learn about Opal’s vision for the future and to hear about the range of powerful new inbound services on offer.”
