International mobile services company, Opera Telecom, has once again been included in the top 50 fastest growing media companies in the UK, in this year’s Media Momentum Awards organised by GP Capital.
Since the 2005 Awards, Opera Telecom has climbed the list, now ranking at number 32. In 2005, Opera Telecom was ranked at number 37 and it was one of five companies that received a Media Momentum Star Award for its exceptional growth and management. In this year’s Top 50, Opera Telecom was ranked at number 32 which reflects its ongoing business expansion on a global basis.
Opera Telecom works with media companies such as GMTV, ITV, Mersey TV, Endemol and Virgin Mobile, providing a range of international mobile services including content, infrastructure, billing and campaign management. Through its core technology platform, Dragon – an advanced, self-service mobile platform – customers can create and launch complex IVR, SMS and MMS marketing campaigns, and set up and tailor their own mobile services. By using a self-service provisioning platform that can be used by anyone, organisations can rapidly introduce, test and modify a wide range of services at a fraction of the cost of third party-led campaigns.
Gary Corbett, Chief Executive of Opera Telecom, says, “We are delighted to have increased our ranking within the Award’s top 50 listing. This Award emphasises Opera Telecom’s continual growth rates even after success in previous years and this reaffirms our position at the forefront of the international mobile services industry.”
He concludes, “We have seen our international operations strengthening over this past year. As we continue to build upon Opera’s global presence we would hope to continue to increase our growth rates further in the coming year, replicating our indirect business model in new and emerging mobile markets.”
Opera Telecom came first in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 in 2004 the annual league table ranking the UK’s one hundred fastest growing private companies. Founded by Gary Corbett in 2000, Opera Telecom’s sales have consistently grown year on year, with turnover currently at £102m.
