Panasonic SIP DECT Solutions Provide Low Cost Cordless Telephony for SOHO

At a time when reducing costs and improving business technology go hand in hand Panasonic have announced a new set of SIP cordless DECT phone systems. SOHO and SME workers can now stay in touch whilst working from remote offices and businesses benefit from reduced cost VoIP calling.

Panasonic are introducing two new packages in its new SIP/DECT range and a new cordless handset. The KX-TGP550 package features a base station with dual port Ethernet connectivity and integral corded handset, plus one cordless handset. The TGP500 package features a wall-mountable base station plus one cordless handset. Both packages can support up to up to 6 cordless DECT handsets, 8 inbound phone numbers, 3 simultaneous calls and both local and network based intercom facilities.

Panasonic says installation of both systems can be done quickly and easily through an intuitive web-based interface. Once configured, the TGP500 SIP phones have the capacity to allow simple, one-button call traffic prioritisation on incoming lines as well as conferencing for up to two concurrent, three-party calls or alternatively the management of 3 independent calls simultaneously.

Accompanying the TGP550 and KX-TGP500 packages is the new KX-TPA50 cordless DECT handset featuring an attractive, ergonomically and robust design, 100 number phone book memory and outstanding battery operation featuring up to 5 hours talk time and 10 hours standby operation between charges.

Panasonic’s new SIP DECT series supports carriers and service providers by delivering high quality voice communications and simple installation. It brings together all the advantages of High Definition (HD) VoIP calls, classic business phone functionality and easy web-based administration. The new Panasonic phone range is certified by BroadSoft who provide VoIP applications to 7 of the 10 largest carrier’s in the world. The TGP series is also compatible with the Asterisk open source communications software, and certified with both Digium and Switchvox.

TGP500 series will be available to purchase from December 2010.
