Polycom Announces Broadsoft Integration

Unified Comms
Polycom has announced interoperability with BroadSoft UC services across the popular Polycom VVX Business Media Phone portfolio, enabling Internet telephony providers to now offer enhancements to directory and presence features

Initially available on PolycomVVX500 and 600 in the first quarter of this year, the company also recently expanded support for BroadSoft’s UC services for the Polycom VVX 300 and 400 models. The support for BroadSoft UC services simplifies the enterprise experience, providing a richer feature set for small and medium-sized customers, making users more productive with High Definition (HD) voice and video capabilities. The announcement was made at BroadSoft Connections 2013 users’ conference taking place this week at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.

“Polycom and BroadSoft have a long-standing history of empowering service providers to create services and offerings that allow organisations of any size to capitalize on life-like video and voice communications to make faster and better decisions, increase productivity, and reduce costs,” said Gary Testa, Vice president, Global Cloud and Service Provider Solutions Group, Polycom. “The added support for BroadSoft’s UC services across the Polycom VVX Business Media Phone portfolio creates a significant opportunity for service providers to further expand their hosted and managed service portfolios so that they can continue to deliver greater business value to their customers.”

“For many years, BroadSoft and Polycom have collaborated to create innovative solutions that improve the productivity of users in enterprises and small-to-medium businesses,” said Michael Tessler, chief executive officer, BroadSoft. “Our UC-One™ platform includes an integrated Unified Communications solution that is specifically designed with all of the critical elements service providers require to easily deliver cloud-based UC services. By enabling desktop and mobile voice, video, presence and additional UC features on Polycom’s VVX Business Media Phones, we are further enhancing the productivity of individual users.”

“We see the addition of BroadSoft UC-One to Polycom VVX phones as a key component in the adoption of our hosted unified communications solution, ANPI VIP Presence,” said David Byrd, chief marketing officer at ANPI, a unified communications service provider. “This enhancement will help the small and medium-sized business we serve interact more efficiently and productively with their customers, and in many cases we believe it will allow them to better compete with larger businesses.”

“The ability to incorporate UC-One applications within Polycom IP phones is exciting and meaningful to us,” said Dean Manzoori, vice president of Global Cloud Communications, Masergy. “This integration means that our customers can instantly become more productive.”

"BroadSoft's UC-One, together with Polycom's VVX line of IP phones, is the ideal solution for today's businesses," says Yaniv Masjedi, vice president of marketing, Nextiva, a unified communications service provider. "It offers the best in business communication and is an excellent addition to the market with its seamless user experience, the openness of its customer platform and the mobility it allows."
