Powerdial Systems Reaps Rewards from BT Business Plan

Powerdial Systems Limited has become one of BT Indirect Channels' biggest BT Business Plan success stories, securing £2.5m in contract values in less than six months. Powerdial, a leading voice and data reseller, has achieved this and reaped significant financial rewards following its decision to increase focus on calls and lines.

Powerdial's commitment to Business Plan manifested itself in the recruitment of four additional members of staff with impressive track records in the calls and lines market. Their consultative approach has secured several new customers, including the Jardine Motor Group, one of the UK's largest independent dealership groups.

Prior to signing up to BT Business Plan, the Jardine Motor Group was using several different telephony suppliers. With disparate billing methods and payment dates in place across the company's 39 sites, it was difficult to have an overall view of call spend or to establish where cost savings could be made. There was an urgent need to consolidate and rationalise the Jardine Motor Group's telephony spend. BT One Bill was implemented to give the customer accurate insight into its total BT voice and rental spends. In addition, Powerdial used BT Billing Analyst software to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of BT Business Plan if rolled out across the whole business. As a result Powerdial converted all 39 sites to BT Business Plan, thereby securing the Jardine Motor Group's telephony spend.

Ian Byron, managing director of Powerdial Systems explained why BT Business Plan has become an integral part of Powerdial's portfolio. He said: "Other BT partners were already generating significant incremental revenues and strengthening their customer relationships through BT Business Plan and we realised we could be missing a trick. It would help us to secure and retain more of our customers' telephony spend. BT Business Plan has brought us revenues quickly and helped us to strengthen our position with our customers. What's key for us now, is optimising opportunities to cross-sell and upsell further inbound, security and data solutions."

Lorna McPherson, general manager of partner sales at BT Indirect Channels said: "Powerdial's success with BT Business Plan demonstrates how our partners can use our robust calls and lines proposition to position themselves as trusted consultative partners who can bring real insight into their customers' telephony spend. In the highly competitive voice market, securing and retaining customer spend is key, and BT Business Plan gives our partners a solid base from which to build further business."
