Proximity Communications plc has appointed Avaya business services expert James Stevenson as Operations Director. As the Proximity customer portfolio expands, and the company continues to outperform market growth trends, James is tasked with managing higher levels of customer service delivery requirements.

Darren Boyce, CEO, Proximity Communications says: “It’s been well reported that we have seen excellent growth in the past 12 months and we see no reason for that healthy expansion not to continue. What we are very mindful of however, is that through that growth we continue to meet and where possible, exceed customer expectations, when it comes to design, solution build customer service, delivery and on-going maintenance and management. James’ experience in the industry, especially his Avaya business capabilities will enable us to further enhance our delivery and support offering.”

An Engineering graduate, James also holds an MBA from the London Business School. He has more than 20 years experience in the Operations and technology industry, with strengths in product marketing and management, business development and strategic planning, services delivery and team management, across the UK, Ireland, and EMEA. James was also a Management Consultant at OVUM.

“My experience in product development and delivery, in addition to previous strategic business roles and my consultancy skills, enables me to approach customer needs in a holistic way. I understand the technology needs of our customers, but I also approach technology solutions considering the impact on business, directly and indirectly, the need for faster ROI, the effects of change and growth, individual staff needs and preferences, sustainability, integration and collaboration. Proximity is the right company at the right time for me, as we’re both focused on moving operations and services to new levels.”

In total, Proximity has employed 14 new staff since the beginning of 2012 and also recently opened an office in Burton, near Birmingham, to provide regional sales and support.
