Purple, has moved its headquarters to Oldham, Greater Manchester, relocating due to a growth in staff numbers. The new, larger office will accommodate Purple’s expanding team, which has grown dramatically over the past year, following a £5.4 million investment being used to recruit in excess of 100 new staff globally.

Prior to the Oldham move, Purple was based in Ashton-under-Lyne for four years, where it began with a headcount of just six employees. Purple now boasts 20 million users worldwide, with deployments in 73 countries and offices based in the U.S., Spain, Chile, Singapore and Australia.

Along with the new office in Oldham, Purple has opened an additional UK hub in Bracknell, Berkshire. Both offices will serve the firm's extensive UK customer base, including Legoland, Molson Coors, Jaguar, United Wireless Arena, City of York and TUI.

The WiFi and analytics provider is set to continue its global expansion throughout 2017, with Purple already looking to hire an additional 10 employees at the Oldham office and 25 new staff members at the Texas office, which opened just last week.

Commenting on Purple’s new Oldham office, Gavin Wheeldon, CEO of Purple, said: “Purple has experienced unbelievable growth over the last few years and this move to a bigger and better headquarters allows us to continue building momentum. I’m sure the team will love the new office in Oldham, it not only offers staff a lot more space but the move marks a dynamic new chapter for Purple.”
