Quiss Provide Wright Solution

Outsourcing services provider Quiss Technology has been engaged by Dudley-based Wright Solicitors to provide a fully managed, hosted IT solution for the local law firm.

Wright Solicitors managing partner Stan Williets commented on their choice of Quiss; “Law firms place huge demands on IT these days, with large amounts of information necessary for us to do our jobs. Our ability to access information quickly and consistently, whilst delivering greater resilience for our business is essential for a modern, forward-thinking law firm.

“When assessing suppliers, we focussed on companies with experience of working with law firms that not only offered a broad range of services, but would listen to our specific needs and tailor a system accordingly. Quiss came highly recommended for its work with other law firms, both small and large, displaying a real understanding of the way law firms work and how technology can help improve service delivery.

“For a fixed monthly fee that covers absolutely everything, including unlimited helpdesk support, hardware break fix, engineers on predefined SLA’s and of course all of the hosting services, Quiss also supplied all our new HP hardware, running Windows 7 and Office 2010. Thanks to the hosted solution, with our own servers sitting in their UK data centre, we have increased resilience, thanks to our ability to work from any location with an internet connection. We have also satisfied our own, self-imposed standards of security and confidentiality, not to mentions those of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.”

Commercial Services Manager at Quiss Technology, Matt Rhodes commented; “Our service is completely scalable; it doesn’t matter whether a client has 50 users or 500, the service is the same and the technology is the same. As with all our clients, we handle the relationship with vendors of any third-party applications running on the current system and ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

“In this particular case the case management software would not support a jump to Windows 8 and Office 2013, but the system works perfectly and will undoubtedly deliver the rise in productivity any good system upgrade generates. This switch to a private cloud solution offers a scalable cloud environment, built on infrastructure dedicated to their business only, ensures they enjoy all the benefits of cloud technology, with none of the potential drawbacks that deter law firms making the move.

“Wright Solicitors is a busy law firm and any disruption to service would be a problem for a firm that prides itself on the quality of service it delivers to its clients. The decision was made to send our engineers on site late Friday afternoon to prepare for a weekend roll-out of the system. After back-ups were created, the servers were switched off, carefully removed and transported to the data centre, where they were installed and re-commissioned.

“All the old hardware was removed on the Saturday and new equipment was installed over the weekend, including network switches, with the pre-installed operating system up and running on Sunday for final checks to be performed, ready for Monday.

“Our total IT outsourcing service covers all hardware in the firm’s Dudley office and their servers in the data centre, which allows Wright Solicitors to move forwards with complete confidence in the ability of their IT to be an enabler for growth, not something holding them back.”
