Reseller News: Applegarth Communications Launches IT Company

Leeds-based reseller Applegarth Communications Ltd has launched a new company, Applegarth IT. With offices in Leeds and Darlington, the company will provide IT support to clients of Applegarth Communications as well as building up its own portfolio.

David Marsden, managing director of Applegarth Communications, becomes joint MD alongside Roger Burgess who joins from computer company, Comtek, of Barnard Castle, Teesside, where he was technical sales manager.

Burgess said that Applegarth IT will offer clients greater control and integration by supplying the complete package of telephony and IT systems. Typical clients, he said, will be 10-plus PC users, often with multiple off-site employees, and he has already identified huge potential within Applegarth Communications.

“A lot of existing clients require IT products and support”, he said, “not only to get the best from their telephone systems, which are increasingly PC-based, but also with broader business systems.”

Mr Marsden, who has seen Applegarth Communications go from strength to strength since its launch in 2003, said: “It certainly make sense for our clients to deal with a single supplier who can ensure that all of their IT and telecommunications systems are fully integrated.”

Projects include a £250,000 contract to design, supply and install a complete corporate infrastructure at the new Leeds headquarters of the Hewlett Group, plus a £75,000 deal to install a hotel booking system, IT systems and telephony for a national hotel group.

The new company is currently recruiting three additional staff to work in technical support, sales and administration.
