Global pharmaceutical packaging company, Alcan Packaging Cramlington, called upon the expertise of Executel to upgrade existing technology and install a state-of-the-art communications platform, enabling the seamless delivery of telephony and data services over the one network.
Representing an investment of approximately £20,000, the Mitel 3300 telecoms solution is now in place, successfully streamlining communications for Alcan and providing the very latest technology in the form of a fully integrated Voice over IP application.
Of the installation, Steve Rogerson, purchasing manager for Alcan Packaging, said: “Our relationship with Executel goes back a few years when they were invited to adopt the maintenance and servicing for our previous telephone system. During that period, Executel provided a first class response to our changing needs.
“More recently, Executel has provided us with a competitive package covering both the installation of the technology and our ongoing maintenance costs.”
Alcan Packaging Cramlington is one of the world's leading suppliers of flexible packaging to the pharmaceutical industry and currently employs 67 staff at its Northumberland based operation. The firm’s diverse range of products includes aluminium blister foil, sachet laminate, strip pack material, formpack, and the latest Alcan-patented child resistant material, Guardlid.

Executel is on target to reach turnover of £6m this year with a longer-term plan to hit the £10m mark by 2009.
