The global awards, launched in Chicago in 1986 and the UK in 1999, are widely regarded in the business calendar, with judging criteria that includes entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, leading and building teams, financial performance, strategic direction and personal integrity and influence. Following an extensive interview and judging process, finalists were selected and allocated to individual award categories by an independent panel of judges.
Commenting on the award, Matthew Riley said: “It’s obviously a great personal achievement to have success recognised by an award such as this. However I believe it’s equally important to use this as an opportunity to recognise and thank the wider daisy team, many of whom have been with the company since it was established in 2001. Without their support, energy and commitment daisy wouldn’t be the success it is today.”
