Run Steve, run!

STL Communications’ Steve Evins finished the 2012 London Marathon in 3h38m14s. Running in aid of the Scouts Association, Steve was one of 160 additional places provided by HRH Prince Harry, who is the patron of the 2012 London Marathon Charitable Fund. As this year’s Patron, Prince Harry provided a number of additional entries to the 2012 race to a select group of charities, The Scouts being one of them.

As a Prince Harry runner, Steve was asked to record a video diary in the week before and in the final days events leading up to the race, including final preparations at the start area and a brief interview at the finish line . The reward for which was an invitation only reception for all of Prince Harrys runners which was sponsored by BAFTA and hosted at their Piccadilly HQ where the BAFTA awards are filmed.

Steve, who is STL’s Internal Account Manager says, “It was another great day for running...if not a little hot! Typical that after a week of wet weather, race day comes and it's a scorcher! It was a great occasion and the course was packed with supporters.” Steve raised £1000 for The Scouts Association.
