Scancom opens its doors

Scancom has opened its doors as the UK’s first independent BlackBerry store. Based in Leicester and online, the shop is a one stop shop for BlackBerry. This includes devices, airtime, sat nav, hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server, BlackBerry tracking and remote BlackBerry installation service.

In early August, Scancom will launch its hosted BlackBerry service for small businesses to complement the BlackBerry Enterprise Server based on Microsoft Exchange for larger clients. This means no hardware costs for smaller companies that only wish to take one to five devices, said Chen Kotecha, managing director at Scancom.

Scancom will also be launching a portal for dealers and clients, which among other benefits will allow dealers to set up smaller customers with hosting for their devices remotely.

Kotecha commented: “We have a unique proposition for the channel. We are offering free 30 day trials on BlackBerry sat nav for dealers, and sat nav is now offered at discounted prices to the channel, at up to 30% off.

“With RIM making great advancements in smartphone technology and security, Scancom is perfectly positioned to offer the latest technology, including the new BlackBerry Curve Black Emerald, to our clients,” Kotecha continued.

Scancom is an Orange Business Specialist Partner, Orange BlackBerry launch partner for the indirect channel in 2005, plus a BlackBerry Alliance Member.
