Shazam, the mobile music discovery provider, has announced the availability of its mobile application for download inside the new Ovi Store by Nokia allowing users to discover music on Nokia handsets and online. Shazam has been selected as a strategic partner in the music apps category of Nokia’s new mobile storefront.
Shazam enables users to identify music from a database of over eight million tracks simply by holding their mobile towards a song for just a few seconds as it is playing and then returns information about the track, artists and album.
Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam, stated: “Having already established the vast popularity of our application amongst music lovers worldwide, Shazam is excited to be able to offer the magic of music discovery to customers of the most established handset manufacturer in the world. Having Shazam on the Nokia Ovi Store enables end users to take music discovery to the next level and combine this with their Nokia Comes with Music package.
Users may download Shazam’s mobile music discovery application for a one off payment of €5 for the life of the Nokia handset.
