Siemens Enterprise Communications has appointed Marc Aghili as the company’s Vice President of Indirect Channel Sales and Business Development in Europe (excluding Germany), Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific operations.

Effective from May 16th 2011, Aghili will be responsible for the management of indirect channel, defining and implementing business development, demand generation, product and service promotion campaigns, indirect sales activities, and further optimisation of the two-tier channel program in these regions. Aghili will report to EMEA and APAC general manager Wolfram Fischer.

“Siemens Enterprise Communications boasts strong channel presence within Western Europe, and is focused on solidifying our global leadership position in UC through rapid expansion in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific”, Fischer said. “The addition of Aghili to our team will bring huge experience and leadership in this sector to develop our business and strengthen our position even further within the indirect channel.”

Aghili joins the company from Volkswagen Financial Services US Entity, where he developed the services business with local car dealerships. For four years prior to this, Marc was responsible for increasing the business to business insurance and services portfolio as national sales and business development director at Assurant Solutions, a provider of specialised insurance products and services.

Aghili also spent 10 years at Hewlett-Packard in global and regional marketing, sales and business development functions, focusing on multi-tiered distribution channels. Under his leadership, HP established product and service packages for volume and value distributors and significantly increased the business volume in a multi-layered channel eco system.

“I look forward to bringing my experience in business development within leading global enterprises to help the company strive toward new goals, further grow and develop the UC market share in the indirect channel sector, and achieve further successes across the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions”, Aghili said. “Siemens Enterprise Communications’ award-winning indirect portfolio, recently strengthened by OpenScape Office V3 and OpenScape UC Server Xpress, plus compelling commercial and service offerings present an exciting proposition to bring to market within the channel.”
