Siemens Introduces OpenScape UC Server Xpress

Siemens Enterprise Communications has introduced OpenScape UC Server Xpress describing it as a new streamlined voice, UC and contact centre solution optimised for midsize customers with between 350-1,000 users and the ability to easily scale for future growth. Available exclusively through Siemens Enterprise Communications’ selected indirect partners, OpenScape UC Server Xpress places an affordable, easy to configure and deploy voice and UC solution within reach for the mid-market enterprise.

Siemens says midsize enterprises face many of the same business challenges as large enterprises, with the need to reduce costs and improve productivity and operational efficiency. OpenScape UC Server Xpress has been designed with key applications pre-configured including OpenScape Unified Messaging, OpenScape Unified Communications, OpenScape Contact Center and a fully featured OpenScape Voice solution to ensure simple and fast deployment and use. This helps keep start-up costs down and gets the mid-sized enterprise working with the advanced applications they require. Designed to be deployed in hours rather than days, channel partners can quickly get customers up and running, accelerating return on investment.

Tony Parish, managing director at G3 Telecommunications commented that: “The operational efficiency and functionality provided by OpenScape UC Server Xpress offers G3 a tremendous opportunity as a Siemens Enterprise Communications partner. It simply is the perfect proposition for the growing mid-sized market. Siemens Enterprise Communications has designed this product with partners in mind and the pre-configured solution and partner support provided will help drive UC adoption in the mid-sized market space and enable quicker ROI realization for our clients.”

OpenScape UC Server Xpress includes tools to enable partners to improve deployment efficiency and customer service. OpenSmart Customer Data Collection captures customer-specific information including subscriber data, dial plan and routing, and generates a mass provisioning configuration file that is part of the pre-staging of the solution. A new Web-based community portal for support provides a forum for partners to discuss best practices for customer deployments, and provides access to service and documentation, trouble shooting guides, a hotline for urgent priority requests, and a searchable knowledge base.

Based on the OpenScape Voice, OpenScape UC Server and OpenScape UC Suite solutions OpenScape UC Server Xpress delivers all of the operational and maintenance capabilities customers and partners have come to expect. This includes the OpenScape Deployment Server, which provides Auto Phone configuration capabilities, and the Common Management Portal, which allows for the management of all OpenScape UC Server Xpress solution components.

“The launch of OpenScape UC Server Xpress is further evidence of the increased focus that Siemens Enterprise Communications is placing on the indirect channel.” comments Leon Mangan, director indirect channel Siemens Enterprise Communications, "Designed for the mid-sized enterprise, the solution combines simplicity with functionality and offers our indirect partners a tremendous opportunity to grow revenue by targeting this fast growing and highly competitive segment of the market. I am very excited about the addition of OpenScape UC Server Xpress to our indirect portfolio and I am looking forward to the success that we will have together with our partner community.”
