Siemens Reseller Donates Award Prize to Charity

Marcom Communications, a Siemens Solution Partner and member of the select Solus group was runner up as Business of the Year 2007 in the Enterprise Enfield awards.

There are approximately 15,000 businesses in Enfield, so number 2 was a brilliant result. However, Marcom is number 1 as far as Enfield Talking Newspaper is concerned.

ETN, which has been recording and distributing the local news to Enfield’s blind and partially sighted residents every week for more than forty years, was delighted to learn that Marcom would be donating its £500 prize money to the long established charity.

As Mark Casey, Marcom’s managing director said “Marcom has the highest accreditation as a Siemens solution partner. Our project management systems are accredited to ISO 9000-2000 and PRINCE2 methodology. We offer our clients a complete service supplying, installing and maintaining communications networks. Since 1992 everybody in Marcom has worked hard to achieve a consistently high level of service to our customers. After all we stand or fall on our ability both to communicate and to ensure that our clients are able to do so throughout their businesses.”

Mark added “It gives us a lot of pleasure to donate our prize money to a really worthy local charity, Enfield Talking Newspaper. We know what ETN’s work means to Enfield’s blind and partially sighted community. We feel that this donation is particularly apposite, as both Marcom and ETN are intimately involved in communication.”

In accepting the donation on behalf of Enfield Talking Newspaper, Diane de Jersey, ETN’s listener’s representative, thanked Mark Casey and his co-director Caroline McGovern “Currently, at ETN, we send out weekly over 250 cassettes of the local news. We try to do this as expertly as possible and that requires high quality recording and reproduction equipment. Naturally the equipment requires servicing regularly and occasionally it has to be replaced and that costs money. Also, at some time in the future, we will probably have to change from cassettes to other methods of delivery and so we must plan for that too. Marcom’s terrific donation will certainly help us to maintain our service. We know that all our listeners will want to join us in thanking Mark, Caroline and everybody at Marcom.”
