Siemens Upgrades Comms Platforms

Siemens Enterprise Communications has announced updates to its all-in-one unified communications and collaboration suite for small to medium-sized businesses and the mid-market (up to 1000 users).

The upgrades to OpenScape Office and the HiPath 3000 voice platform include a new UC client for tablets, OpenScape Web Collaboration and a UC plug-in for Microsoft Outlook 2010. These solutions, says the vendor, are specifically designed and packaged for growing, ambitious organisations up to 500 users and 1000 in a networked environment, help organisations improve business efficiency and mobility while better serving their customers and reducing communications costs.

Rob Keenan, Head of UK Portfolio Management, Deployment Readiness Management at Siemens Enterprise Communications commented that, “Increased mobility and flexibility in consumer devices and the ‘bring your own device’ phenomenon have caused businesses to rethink their communications infrastructures to meet future business needs. Our enhancements to OpenScape Office such as the addition of web collaboration, increased mobility and support for virtualization tackles this and reduces business costs and increases productivity.”
