SME’s Feel the Same Pain say Siemens

Martin Northend, Director of SME Solutions Marketing at Siemens Enterprise Communications says the ‘small’ end of the PBX and communications market space is one in which Siemens have been busy improving their market offering.

“We see an enormous potential in this market, for a couple of reasons; Firstly, whilst many partners do not publicly target this market - nearly all are keen to pick up opportunities in this segment - predominantly because it can offer fairly quick win business.

Secondly, there is evidence that there is a demand within smaller companies for Unified Communications, not just POTS. Research recently undertaken by Siemens shows that small organisations suffer the same communications pains as larger companies. The challenge has always been bringing a cost effective UC solution to this market.

Earlier this year Siemens introduced the HiPath OpenOffice Entry Edition which scales up to 30 users and provides a free desktop UC application capability using open "Widget" type technology. This Open approach allows Siemens partners to quickly and easily write new applications that integrate the phone system to the customers IT systems.”
