Softcat wins Cisco Commercial Partner of the Year

Last night the networking equipment company Cisco awarded Softcat the Commercial Partner of the Year for UK and Ireland award at its annual Partner Summit in San Diego, California. Softcat is well-established in the Cisco channel and is one of the UK’s fastest growing Cisco partners.

Douglas Fawell, operations director of Softcat, accepted the award at the global awards reception as the second day of the four-day summit drew to a close. “It is a great honour to win this award in recognition of what we have achieved,” he said. “We have come a very long way as a business. There was a time that people knew us only as a provider of software licensing, but today our offering is far-reaching and comprehensive: we are a trusted partner for world-class hardware companies like Cisco.”

Softcat has invested heavily in its partnership with Cisco to build a broad knowledge across the established networking and security portfolios, but also in the exciting new technologies that Cisco is bringing to market. It provides solutions to customers in the private sector and, accredited under the Cisco Public Sector Partner Program, also to organisations in local and central government, healthcare, education, defence, and the emergency services.

Mr Fawell added, “The Cisco Partner Summit presents a great opportunity for us to explore how our customers can benefit from the next generation of networking technologies.”

David Critchley, operations director for SMB and commercial, Cisco, commented, “Exceptional customer focus and technical expertise are what make Softcat the kind of partner we love to work with. The team at Softcat adds tremendous value to what we offer – they are the natural choice for this year’s Cisco Commercial Partner of the Year for UK and Ireland.”
