Solar Communications is officially one of Britain's most inspirational companies, having been included in the “1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2015” list published by the London Stock Exchange Group.

Solar’s CEO, Mark Colquhoun (pictured), is a driving force in the development of the company, with an ethos focused around playing an active role in the British economy and creating positive workplaces where employees thrive.

Commenting on the listing, Colquhoun, said “At Solar we are constantly aiming to innovate within the telecommunications and IT sectors and the listing with the London Stock Exchange Group recognises our drive in creating an exciting and successful place to work. Our market approach ensures we maximise growth potential through a strong portfolio of products, from some of the world’s leading technology vendors, wrapped up in exceptional customer service and support.”

The London Stock Exchange Group list was published alongside a report examining the issues and opportunities facing British SMEs, which highlighted the critical role of the IT sector is in the UK economy:

•IT was the top-performing sector for growth with average annual revenue growth of 350% between 2010 and 2014

•IT was second only to the food and beverage sector in the creation of jobs

•The top two stand-out regions were Inner London and Greater Manchester — two of the three cities where Solar Communications has offices

Commenting on the 2015 list and SME report, Xavier Rolet, chief executive, London Stock Exchange Group, has been quoted saying: “This report is a significant part of London Stock Exchange’s broader campaign to support UK high-growth companies in their journeys from start-up to stardom and to create an entrepreneurship revolution. I’m delighted that a strong alliance between UK Government, financial market participants, investors, entrepreneurs and companies has been created to support these inspiring businesses.”
