Solar Launches Solar Skype Connect

Cloud communications provider Solar Communications has launched Solar Skype Connect.

A solution aimed at helping businesses on their journey to the cloud and developed by the firm’s internal tech team, Solar will be offering businesses the superior unified communications qualities of Skype for Business, with the call quality of enterprise grade telephony services.

Skype for Business has been enjoying a significant uptake from within the business community, however, can be limited in its enterprise grade telephony offering. This has flung open the doors of opportunity, allowing a connecting of the dots between new world Skype for Business and the rich features associated with the traditional business (or enterprise) PBX or hosted telephony.

CEO of Solar, John Whitty explained, “Skype for Business is a great tool, but it comes up short with regards to its telephony features. This has become a cause of frustration for many businesses which is why we developed Solar Skype Connect.

“SSC addresses a number of customer pain points by creating a scalable, cost-effective, next generation answer to the question of how to achieve optimum and feature-rich telephony. It’s something we’re very proud of.”

Indeed, Solar Skype Connect provides scalability meaning users can be added and removed from a network easily and cheaply, the technology itself can be paid for monthly side-stepping prohibitive upfront costs, it is more resilient than SfB alone, allows for mobile working, is simple to roll out, and allows IT departments greater freedom to concentrate on more business-critical projects.

Solar intend to go even further with SSC, as John Whitty outlines, “It’s not enough for us to offer this product directly to our customers, we want as many businesses as possible to benefit from its features. To that end, we will be offering it to re-sellers of the Microsoft Office365 package so they themselves can provide SSC to their own customer base.”

Delivered as either cloud, hybrid or on premise, SSC allows businesses to migrate services towards the cloud gradually, in a controlled manner and at very low risk.
