STL hosts disaster recovery seminar at Force India F1

It will never happen to us… but are you prepared if it does? Delegates from organisations across the region heard speakers talk about the role of communications in disaster recovery at a seminar hosted by STL Communications at STL customer Force India F1’s headquarters in Silverstone at the end of September.

The scene was set by Anthony Harris of Critchleys who spoke about disasters and their potential effect on business referring specifically to the recent snow, flooding and volcanoes. Philip Donigan of STL outlined the role played in disaster recovery by the latest developments in communications technology including virtualisation and hosted as well as home working and inbound calls, all helping to enable an organisation to continue trading in unforeseen circumstances.

Following the seminar, delegates enjoyed a tour of the Force India factory, getting up-close and personal with the F1 cars as well as finding out the inside story on life in the pit lane.

Philip Donigan, STL’s Sales Director concludes, “Businesses need to get back up and running immediately after a disaster, so having a plan makes good sense. This seminar helped delegates think about business continuity in the event of a disaster and we were able to provide them with some new ideas as to how the latest developments in telephony can assist.”
