Summit Kicks off with Record Attendance

The 2008 Convergence Summit North kicked off yesterday at the Deansgate Hilton Hotel Manchester with record numbers of visitors pouring through the doors throughout the day.

Visitors were there to see the 50 vendors exhibiting, their products and applications as well as hearing about their new channel strategies.

The educational seminars once again proved a great draw with Stephanie Watson of MZA and Tim Stone of Cisco speaking to packed rooms.

Samsung, who are previewing their new hosted telephony service with partners THUS and Teleware held a standing room only session Tuesday afternoon which followed the Hosted IP Telephony panel debate chaired by Editor Ian Hunter.

At the end of the first day Publisher and event organiser Miles Bossom put on an exhibitor party which incorporated two giant TV screens so that exhibitors could watch Manchester United beat Barcelona to reach the final of the Champions League. The celebrations went on well in to the early hours!
