Taalus Acquires Malvolio Ltd

The Board of Taalus Ltd, an IT service solution provider, has announced that it has acquired the assets and liabilities of Malvolio Group, incorporating PCS Technical Services, Uppersystem and Office Communications.

The acquisition took place on the 16th of February and these businesses have now been combined into a new single entity, which will operate under the Taalus brand name.

Taalus Group Ltd, formerly known as Tern Rand, is a London based IT infrastructure, brand management and service solution provider. The business is part of the portfolio of companies managed by RCapital, a specialist London based private investment business.

Jamie Constable, Partner of RCapital and Chairman of Tern Rand Ltd, said: “Tern Rand has a history of providing a high standard of service levels working with partner businesses to achieve the optimum service solution. The business has recently successfully exited a number of its projects and the acquisition of Malvolio represents the next phase of the company’s development.

Taalus can now offer a full spectrum of IT services. Their independent status enables them to design the perfect solution from a full range of best of breed technologies. The group’s resource allows it to provide solutions from a single site to a large nationwide roll-out project.

The combined expertise of the group can provide a total, end to end solution for their customers needs. The manufacturer accredited teams use the investment in training and technology made by the Malvolio Group to service their clients’ needs over a wide range of technologies nationwide, thanks to the group’s centrally located national response centre and national network of skilled staff.”

Richard Makowski, Executive Chairman of Taalus, said: “This is an exciting development for Taalus; the investment being made in the new entity will enable us to grow both organically and through acquisition.

This opportunity also enables us to complete the full integration of the companies that previously operated under the Malvolio Group into a more focused single operation and will allow us to take full advantage of the selling opportunities that this combination will undoubtedly bring.

The company will continue to deliver the same high quality, nationwide, technical maintenance and installation services for its partners and clients. The integration, added investment, greater buying power and cross training of the engineering force will allow further improvements such as competitive pricing, call centre capabilities for our AV and telecommunications offerings and comprehensive maintenance offerings on an even wider range of technologies.

Also our ongoing program of new service development, such as the group’s successful Managed Print Service, AV maintenance packages and suite of managed services will now be accelerated, allowing our partners and clients to take advantage of these in demand offerings more quickly.”

The group’s Managed Print Service (an example of the new services being developed) delivers a custom built solution to print and image management, covering both multivendor estates and a range of technologies. The exclusive Continuous Improvement Management Model (CIMM) uses the group’s unique position of providing support to Major Manufacturers in the UK to enable it to design the solution to provide the perfect solution both for the clients immediate and future requirements.
